The purpose of this paper is to present a novel single tube semi-active tuned liquid gas damper (SA-TLGD) for suppressing horizontal vibrations tower-like structures and study its damping effectiveness. main difference the well-known state-of-the-art column (TLCD) special geometric shape developed SA-TLGD. Contrary TLCD, presented SA-TLGD only consists that partially filled with water. A large deformable elastic membrane neglectable stiffness used as interface between air. Both ends are sealed resulting spring restoring force frequency tuning parameter, respectively. vibration device, where natural magnitude energy dissipation can be re-adjusted during operation. Due lack any vertical parts, new type absorber requires significantly less installation space compared classical TLCDs. equations motion coupled system derived by application conservation momentum. procedure optimal presented, computational numerical studies performed demonstrate It shown provides reduction in maximum forced amplitudes tower like-structures functionality enables possibility re-adjustment time operation life structure.
